Golf is a great game for all the family – and you’re never too young to start! Here’s five reasons why you should get your children into golf:

It’s the perfect generation game, the sport that all the family can play together

It’s great for sporty kids, but it’s equally good and a real confidence-booster for children who dislike more physical sports

It’s an ideal way of getting youngsters outdoors in the fresh air and off their digital devices

It’s an easy way to get good exercise without it feeling like a chore

It teaches personal skills which will last a lifetime

Quote from England Golf

At a time when many clubs have seen reduced junior membership numbers, we are very proud of our thriving junior section at Westonbirt Golf Club. Under the stewardship of resident professional, Kirsty Taylor and Junior Organiser, Julian Law, your child(ren) will receive a very warm welcome.

The course is an ideal place to learn the game and develop as a golfer. The course length, generous fairways and lack of obstacles make golfing fun and not too time consuming.

Thanks to hard work we are pleased that we have recently been awarded both the England Golf’s Safe Golf and Golf Mark accreditations. These measure a golf courses standard in the areas of safeguarding the welfare of children and young people and the coaching and competitions for children. We strive to ensure that all children have a fun, safe and positive experience when playing golf and Westonbirt.

We have regular competitions that are usually on the 1ST Saturday of each month from April to October and have different tee starts according to a player’s ability. We are always thrilled when we see the progress that is made by a child when they improve to a different tee position. Parents are encouraged to walk round for support and scoring purposes. We have a team in the North Wilts Junior Golf League as well as encouraging youngsters to play in the Golf Foundation’s Golf 6’s initiative.

Kirsty can provide a variety of lessons including individual, group and on course lessons and we have a driving range, pitching area and practise putting facilities. PLEASE CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION ON TUITION.
